Despite some inspired form from Andy Murray, particularly in claiming the first set, his Grand Slam hopes where once again put to the sword by Roger Federer, who played close to perfection to claim victory in the mens final at Wimbledon.
A rain break punctuated two sets that were almost neck in neck between the two men, however in the end despite some inspired play from Murray, it was Federer who put on an exhibition of almost flawless play to deny Murray and see himself back as world number one for the first time since 2010.
