The eighth and final film in the Harry Potter saga, “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2″ has set a new record for single day box office sales taking in a magical $92 million on its opening day. The climax to the series has also received a hugely positive critical reaction and now it may be set to break the record for opening weekend box office revenue as well.

That record is currently held by Christopher Nolan’s, “The Dark Knight” which took in $158 million on its opening weekend. However if anyone can lay down the gauntlet to the caped crusaders record it would certainly be the boy wizard and his cohorts.
