Syrian army forces have said that they have wrested control of a district of Aleppo back from rebels following heavy fighting in the city. However rebel forces are believed to still control large areas of Aleppo.
The recent fighting has been concentrated in the southwest of the city, in the Salaheddine district. There are conflicting accounts from both sides over who currently holds the region. Syrian government officials have also said that the rebels have been pushed out of Damascus.
