Over three quarters of a million people are now in desperate need of emergencysupplies as monsoon flooding continues to endanger lives in the Philippines. Emergency workers estimate that nearly 850,000 people have been displaced by over a week of continuous monsoon rains in the capital Manila and surrounding provinces.
The annual monsoon rains in the Philippines were bolstered by both tropical storm Haikui and Typhoon Saola. According to reports from the Philippines national disaster agency, approximately 60% of the capital Manila remains inundated from the rains.
