Three Mexican police officers have been left dead following a shoot-out in Mexico City International airport. The officers were attempting to apprehend two other officers who were allegedly involved with a drugs smuggling ring.

The suspects opened fire, killing two of the three arresting officers and wounding the third, who later succumbed to his injuries. The two suspects made their escape and are currently being sought by police in Mexico. Although severely disrupted by the incident, the airport is continuing to operate its normal flight schedule.
