A series of car bombings in Libya have claimed the lives of at least two people. The bombs detonated close to a former police academy and interior ministry buildings in Tripoli. The first of three car bombs exploded close to interior ministry buildings, however nobody was injured in the immediate blast.
Two further car bombs detonated near the former headquarters of a women’s police academy killed two people and wounded two others. Whilst there have been violent incidents in Libya since the overthrow of the Gaddafi regime, these car bombings mark the first fatal attacks.
